Why are you introducing new varnishes when you already carry Tough Coat by Fusion Mineral Paint?

Well, firstly, we like to give you choices just like with our brush collections. It´s often a matter of personal preference, for both you and your customer.
We tend to choose based on what sheen we´re looking for for a specific piece or project.

No sheen - ultra-matte - varnish is almost invisible:
---> Decorator´s Varnish Dead Flat - does not change the paint colour
Matte sheen, a very low reflection value:
---> Tough Coat Matte - slightly deepens the paint colour
Satin sheen:
---> Decorator´s Varnish Satin
Glossy sheen:
---> Tough Coat Gloss

What´s the difference between the Decorator´s Varnish and the Heavy Duty Extreme Varnish?

Decorator´s Varnish is suitable for a wide range of decorative surfaces: paintwork, wallpaper, fabric, wood and plaster work.

Heavy Duty Extreme Varnish is for all interior and exterior surfaces that require an ultra tough waterproof finish with UV-protection: interior and exterior worktops and tables, concrete, brick, exterior horizontal timber, exterior furniture, bathrooms.

Heavy Duty Extreme Varnish is also recommended when a quick curing time is necessary, this varnish is cured in 16 hours (in ideal conditions).
Are these varnishes "wipe-on" with a rag or applicator pad, just like Fusion´s Tough Coat?

No, application with a good quality synthetic brush is recommended. A roller is to be avoided as this can cause stippling.
What´s the difference in sheen between Dead Flat and Satin?

The dead flat version is ultra-matte, has practically no sheen at all. The satin finish has a satin finish, has some reflection but definitely not glossy. The sheen of the Satin Finish can be posed right in between Tough Coat Matte and Tough Coat Gloss.
